My name is Jean; I live in Innisfil, Ontario, Canada. I am the proud mother of four beautiful children, three boys and one girl. Remembering my little treasures as babies is so inspiring. Capturing precious moments of their lives and recreating them from little balls of clay is so rewarding. I am a formally trained artist. I was selected to attend a prestigious Art High School. I then went on to College to specialize in Advertising and Graphic Design. What a great experience. Over the years I have touched on many aspects of the art world. Drawing and painting have been my passion for many years. I love sculpting all sizes of babies. But, my favorite and specialty are my wee tiny babies in 1:24th and 1:12th scale. They're size makes them especially difficult and challenging to sculpt, I guess that's why I love sculpt them so much. Each One of a Kind baby is lovingly hand sculpted using polymer clay. Where size permits, my babies are sculpted over an armature, this takes a lot longer to do. Each piece of clay is added and smoothed until it is no longer noticeable and becomes seamless. I create my babies this way to give them structure which ensures durability so that they last a long time. No molds are ever used. Many different tools are utilized to ensure the tiniest details are created as life like as possible. Even tools as small as needles are required. Mohair is applied; tiny creases and lips are blushed. It takes anywhere from 8 - 12 hours to complete each baby. However, once the process is completed, it brings me great joy to see how each baby takes on its own little character. Please note: Due to the nature of polymer clay, my babies will never be perfect. There may be white specs, spots or other discolorations. These are usually minor, they can even be thought of as baby's birth mark. When possible I will be listing sculptures on eBay to end on Saturdays or Sundays. I hope you enjoy Les Petits Tr?sors as much as I enjoy creating them. Blessings, Jean
